Radio Detection and Ranging (RADAR) is a sensing and imaging technology used extensively in civilian and strategic applications.

Since the early 2000s, conventional radar technology has seen two major transformations: a) migration from pulsed radars to frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radars, which provide improved range and velocity resolution for significantly lower amounts of power consumption and b) the development of semiconductor-chip based radars (radars-on-chip) that leverage semiconductor technology to make radar systems lightweight and portable, while substantially reducing cost.

AAGYAVISION® is commercializing a radar-on-chip technology developed at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) over 7+ years of research. The technology has enabled the integration of the entire electronics of a radar in a chip smaller than a grain of rice.

Our circuits and architectures enable FMCW radars to operate across a wide range of frequencies, with fractional bandwidths exceeding 100%. This improves resolution, while staying significantly under the cost and power specifications of commercial radar systems.

We are able to fine-tune our systems for specific applications by using novel architectural methods, and innovative circuit design techniques embedded in our chips. Our full-stack solution, from our in-house radar-on-chip design, to customized systems and algorithms, allows us to extract maximum performance from our systems for a specific power, form-factor and cost envelope.
