Biography
Dr. Gaurab Banerjee has over twenty-five years of experience developing CMOS based analog, mixed-signal and radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits and systems. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, India and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA.
He has spent more than eleven years in the semiconductor industry at Intel, USA and Qualcomm, USA, contributing to multiple products with 100+ million dollars of revenue impact, and 20+ industrial chips. He has extensive experience in RF and mm-Wave communication and radar system development and in working with in-house fabs and external foundries for semiconductor IP development and design technology co-optimization. He also led the design of an industry-first built-in-self-test (BIST) subsystem in an RFIC product.
At the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), as a professor, Dr. Banerjee has advised 30+ Masters and Ph.D. students, with 15+ research test chips over 13 years. He has developed and transferred key Analog and RF technologies (RF amplifiers, radar-on-chip) to established companies and startups and raised USD 2M+ in research funding as principal or co-investigator.
Dr. Banerjee has 50+ publications in major journals and conferences, and 15 patents (granted or pending). He has received multiple awards including the National Talent Search Scholarship (India), Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship (India’s highest award for translational research) and the Qualcomm Faculty Award.
